I've done spice painting before with L, but I thought it would make a great group activity as well! So I told everyone to raid their spice cabinet for old spices (no hot spices) and bring a bottle or two of white glue. I poured a bit of glue into tiny plastic cups and added water to dilute it, then we let the kids help add the spices to the glue. Then the fun began!

What a awesome idea! Thanks
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I can only imagine the smells! We need to try this soon....with cheap spices!
ReplyDeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! Saw you on Pinterest! Great opportunity to teach children American Indians painted with spices, and other things from the earth. This would make an AWESOME Thanksgiving children's art piece!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work, you are influencing the future artists!!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea I've never come across it but can just imagine the colours and sense that would be involved. This would be so great to do some "cave painting art"

ReplyDeleteI love that you asked the participants to clear out their old spices and bring them- what a fun idea for an art with kids play date!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I'd thought of mixing spices with water to make paints but not with glue... that could work much better! Perhaps i'll try it both ways. Found your blog via 'make do and friend' :) Debs
